Disney World creates magic for everyone

Walt Disney World is a magical place for the whole family.

Disney World contains four theme parks -- Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios

The Magic Kingdom features an array of Disney favorites including Cinderella's Castle, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, It's a Small World, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan's Flight.

Visitors to the Magic Kingdom may get to meet their favorite Disney characters during the many character greetings that occur around the park. Also be sure to ride the Walt Disney World Railroad and at night view the "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks.

Where to stay?

The Orlando area offers hundreds of accommodations choices for your Disney World vacation. If you stay on Disney property, you have the advantage of free transportation among the parks and you can go back to your room for a rest in the afternoon and then return easily to the park in the evening. However, rates usually are lower at properties near Disney and in Kissimmee and many hotels near the resort offer free shuttle service.

In the Animal Kingdom, you can climb aboard an open-sided Kilimanjaro Safari vehicle to see animals from Africa freely roaming  through acres of savannah, rivers, and rocky hills. The Animal Kingdom also features The Tree of Life, Festival of the Lion King, DINOSAUR, and It's Tough to be a Bug.

Travel through time and space within Epcot's Spaceship Earth's world-renowned 180-foot-tall geosphere to discover communications at work. Epcot also features thrill rides such as Mission: SPACE, The Living Seas and "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" while allowing you to visit other countries including Mexico, France, Canada and China.

Take a look behind the scenes of the movie and television industry at Disney-MGM Studios, a real, working studio. Disney-MGM Studios offers a variety of rides and attractions including Star Tours - the ultimate Star Wars thrill ride, Backlot Tour, "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" movie set, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

The Disney complex also offers golf, water parks, the nightlife and shopping of Downtown Disney, Disney's BoardWalk and Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, the Spring Training home of the Atlanta Braves.

There are many modes of transportation within Disney World, including bus, boat and monorail.

Most areas of the resort are accessible by bus from other areas within the resort. Buses travel on routes throughout the resort and do not provide direct service between all destinations.

The Magic Kingdom is accessible by water launch from Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Disney ferryboats connect the Magic Kingdom Park to the Transportation and Ticket Center (adjacent to Magic Kingdom parking).

Disney's monorail runs between the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center. A connecting monorail takes guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Epcot.

Disney's FASTPASS service allows you to make a reservation at some of the more popular attractions and avoid waiting in line. Look for a FASTPASS sign at the attraction's entrance to see if it's offered.

Proper dress is required at all Disney World Theme Parks. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. At the Water Parks, swim attire with rivets, buckles or exposed metal is not permitted on the water attractions.
